Karen Schuessler Singers celebrates the holiday season with ‘A Classical Christmas’
London, ON – Join the KAREN SCHUESSLER SINGERS as they celebrate the start of the holiday season with A Classical Christmas on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Wesley- Knox United Church, 91 Askin Street, at 7:30 p.m.
The choir opens its 32nd season with beautiful and sublime holiday music for choir and orchestra. This most-loved festival has inspired exquisite music for centuries. In this concert, the choir will present a wide range of music from the early Baroque to lush, contemporary harmonies with current texts of deep meaning. These composers, whose music you will hear, have expressed the season in delightful and exciting ways.
Buxtehude’s “In dulci jubilo”, Dan Forrest’s See Amid the Winter Snow, and Arnesen’s “I Will Light Candles for Christmas” all lead up to the thrilling and sublime Magnificat by John Rutter.
Featured will be the beautiful lyric soprano, Katy Clark—and all accompanied by London Symphonia.
“I cannot wait for this concert! The colours and variety of the music is breathtaking. It will be a dazzling prelude to the Christmas Season”, says Director, Karen Schuessler.
Tickets:
Tickets are $30 for adults, and $10 for students. Children 6-13 are free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased online at www.kssingers.com, at Tuckey Home Hardware, and from choir members.

About the Karen Schuessler Singers:
Celebrating 32 years of bringing wonder and joy, the Karen Schuessler Singers continues to showcase artistic innovations and spark excitement as one of Ontario’s premier concert choirs. It was founded in 1993 by director Karen Schuessler to explore the wealth of choral music. The choir has become well known for quality performances and widely varied, accessible and innovative programming. Each season the choir presents a 3-concert subscription series designed to appeal to all ages and musical tastes. The choir performs choral repertoire not often performed to complement traditional repertoire with music ranging from the classics to jazz to Broadway, and from Medieval to the 21st century. The vision of Karen Schuessler Singers is to create concerts that are not only entertaining and thought provoking, but that also lift spirits, lighten hearts and deepen souls. Says Karen Schuessler, “The thrill of live performance, when the audience is open and receiving and the performers are giving from their hearts, is an experience unlike any other. Sing Joy!”
