Karen Schuessler Singers explores Saints & Sinners
London, ON – Join the KAREN SCHUESSLER SINGERS as they explore the heights and the depths of the world’s great stories with SAINTS & SINNERS on Saturday, March 1 at Wesley-Knox United Church, 91 Askin Street, at 7:30 p.m.
The big stories of the world are full of the good and the bad—the saints and the sinners—struggle and redemption. This juxtaposition is the eternal catalyst for much of the world’s greatest art—visual, literary, and musical. It is the crucible in which love is lost—and won—and lives are lived. In this unique concert, the choir visits stories and characters throughout history that have inspired composers to write some of their finest work.
Drawing widely from the worlds of Broadway, opera, folk music, pop, and individual solo and choral repertoire, the choir will present the heights and depths of human experience, ranging from greed and depravity to love and forgiveness—always expressed in exciting, exquisite songs that touch the heart.
Music will include “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, “Mack the Knife”, “God Help the Outcasts”, and others from Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd, Madama Butterfly, and more. Also heard will be music by U2, Paul Simon, and Fats Waller, as well as a show-stopping arrangement of “Amazing Grace” by Roger Ames.
“What a rich cast of characters we have planned for you in this concert! Some are clearly a saint or a sinner, and some are not so clear—we let you decide. Whichever way you go, the composers and the songs are top-notch, and the evening promises to offer a grand time!”, says Director, Karen Schuessler. “I can’t wait!”

About the Karen Schuessler Singers:
The Karen Schuessler Singers is one of London’s premier concert choirs. Celebrating 30 years of great music, it was founded in 1993 by director Karen Schuessler to explore the wealth of choral music. The choir has become well known for quality performances and widely varied, accessible and innovative programming.
Each season the choir presents a 3-concert subscription series designed to appeal to all ages and musical tastes. The choir performs choral repertoire not often performed to complement traditional repertoire with music ranging from the classics to jazz to Broadway, and from Medieval to the 21st century.
